Dimosthenis Chrysikos is Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy, Athens Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He is also General Surgeon and graduated from Medical School of NKUA. His Phd and Master’s Degree are in the field of Surgical Anatomy and in Minimally Invasive and Laparoscopic-Robotic Surgery, all with Honors.
He has many years of teaching and research experience both at the undergraduate level regarding the teaching of Anatomy in the Anatomy Department of the Faculty of Medicine of NKUA and also teaches in eight Postgraduate Programs.
He has a rich research activity with 120 publications in prestigious international sci/pubmed journals with impact factors to date (8/2024) I.F. 143,852 h-index:20/17, citations:1818/1175 google scholar/scopus respectively). He is a Reviewer in 19 international scientific journals and a member of the Editorial Board in 11 international scientific journals. His writing work includes books – chapters in books, translations of chapters of foreign language books – as well as chapters in international books and is focused on Surgery/ Anatomy /Surgical Anatomy/Surgical Oncology.
His research project is focused on the development and training of Anatomage Tables, the three-dimensional and virtual study of the human body using electronic prototypes and new technologies for students of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and postgraduate students of the “Surgical Anatomy” Postgraduate Program » of NKUA. He has also retrained as a Visiting Surgeon of the Division of Surgery, Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. Finally, he is a member of six Greek and international scientific societies.
